Freedom From The Promiscuous Woman – Part II

Freedom From The Promiscuous Woman – Part II
Written by Felicia McKnight

Proverbs 2:16 NLT
“Wisdom will save you from the immoral woman, from the seductive words of the promiscuous woman.”

Where things become challenging for most of us is the turning away from sin. When sin becomes a stronghold it is difficult to break free from it in the power of our own flesh. At the point of salvation the Holy Spirit dwelled within you. God’s word says in 1 John 4:4 NLT:

“But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.”

While it may be difficult to break free God has already declared your victory over sin. The Holy Spirit that dwells inside of you is greater than the worldly ways. To break free you have to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit, prayer, and sometimes the prayers of others.

“We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We use the weapons God has given us to fight off sin. Find out what God’s word says about your sin. Meditate on it daily and allow it to take root in your mind and soul. Allow the word to destroy the lies the enemy has placed in your mind to justify sinful ways. Sometimes deliverance from sin is immediate. You pray and all of a sudden you don’t want to do those things anymore. Then there are times deliverance from sin may not always be immediate. It’s a process. But little by little you will be set free.

The process is a lot like taking medicine when healing from an illness. You may not feel the change over night, but if you keep taking your medicine by meditating and praying eventually the change will come. Every time the thought and desires arise use the word to speak the truth over your life.

There may be times it is difficult to change on your own. You may be dealing with things you don’t want anyone to know about. Perhaps you feel ashamed or embarrassed for your actions. You know your struggle and you want to change but the stronghold is so heavy it seems impossible. What do you do in this situation?

You need to pull it the additional weapon of a prayer partner. Pray and find a non judgmental prayer partner that you can confide in and one who will pray you through. Ask God to show you who that person is. Often times we are so weak that this individual has a clear perspective that can help you see the truths and pray you through.

“Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven. Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” ‭‭James‬ ‭5:14-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It’s also important to remember that once God forgives you that you need to forgive yourself. Once you are forgiven… are forgiven and who the son sets free is free indeed. Be blessed and be encouraged!

“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.” Romans‬ ‭8:1-2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

II Corinthians‬ ‭2:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.”
Heavenly Father, thank you that through the gift and grace of salvation that we can call ourselves your kingdom children and that through Christ’s death on the cross we can stand by faith that we are victorious in you. Lord no matter what we face today help us to remember that we are victorious and that it is Jesus who causes us to triumph in all things. As we go through this day help us to be knowledgeable of your will for our lives. Lord we pray for a fresh new anointing of your knowledge, wisdom, and truth to be upon us. Help us to remember that we are your light in a dark world. Give us wisdom to share the knowledge of you with the lost and hurting souls we may encounter today. As we go through this day I declare we are victorious, we are wise, and we are your light. In Jesus name. Amen

You Are Victorious!

You Are Victorious!

“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” (‭‭I John‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Reminder today that you are a child of the most high God. He is a victorious God who conquered the enemy and His demons at the cross. No matter what challenges you may face today: financial, business, employment, health, relationships, flood waters, remember God is in complete and total control. Even in your own personal struggles. Perhaps you have issues with wrong thinking, habits, a repetitive sin habit you can’t break on your own remember God can, He is able, and He can break it. If you are saved and have received God as your Lord and savior then the Holy Spirit dwells within you. Scripture reminds us today that greater is He, the Holy Spirit, that is inside of you then he who lives in the world (sins, struggles, anything outside the will of God). Be reminded today you are victorious. You are an overcomer. You are more than a conqueror. You are powerful. You can break those sin habits. You have the Holy Spirit on your side. No weapon formed against you will prosper. You are redeemed. You are blessed. You have been set free and who the son sets free is free indeed. You were created in the image of God. You have the mind of Christ. In Jesus name. Amen

Heavenly Father, thank you that today we can call on you as Father. Thank you for your unconditional love for us. Thank you for choosing us to be your children. Thank you that our sins were redeemed at the cross. Thank you that victory was established at the cross. Thank you that today we can give all our burdens and struggles to you knowing you are the only one who can fix them. We surrender all to you today and ask you to do just that. Heal where we need healing. Provide where we need provision. Save souls that need to be saved. Save us in the area of sin we have gotten comfortable in. Break strongholds and chains today. Protect us and refresh us. We ask all these things knowing we are victorious through you. In Jesus name. Amen

Enjoy the Blessing!

Enjoy the Blessing!

January 13, 2016

“All you who fear GOD, how blessed you are! How happily you walk on his smooth straight road! You worked hard and deserve all you’ve got coming. Enjoy the blessing! Revel in the goodness!” (Psalm‬ ‭128:1-2‬ ‭MSG‬‬)

When 2016 came in I had a revelation as I was scrolling through social media and reading various quotes of Pastors at their watch night service or quotes from their 1st sermons of 2016. The common theme every year seems to be that the new year will be a year of blessings or the year of answered prayers and the year your hearts desire comes to pass. I begin to really reflect on this as I looked back over my own life. There were years I started off hearing the same declarations. I would go into the year believing in God for certain things to come to pass and would find myself rolling into the next year with no status update for what I was believing in God for.

After reading Psalm 128:1, ” All you who fear GOD, how blessed you are!”, God reminded me that every year can be a blessed year if we keep Him first, stand on His promises, and remain faithful in prayer. By keeping God first we are acknowledging that He is Lord and Master over our life. We are reminded that He is sovereign. As we read His word and stand on His promises we build our faith and learn to walk by faith and not by sight. We are building ourselves up to enjoy the blessings and the fullness of our Almighty God.

“Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.” (‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:2‬ ‭NASB‬‬)

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭NASB‬‬)

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” ‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭NASB‬‬)

If you are like me, then we collectively labored in prayer for some things in 2015. We fervently prayed for a circumstance to change, a breakthrough, or a desire to come to pass yet on January 1st nothing changed. Many of us have pressed through trials in 2015 that didn’t seem like a blessing at all. If you made it through or still standing in the trial and waiting for answers to prayers be encouraged today that you are still blessed. God’s Grace has carried you through it all and sustained you. His strength is why you are able to make it day by day. His presence is with you. God will never leave you or forsake you. God has heard every prayer. He has seen every tear. He has seen your struggles. God said in His word, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:9‬ ‭NASB‬‬)

As you go through 2016 continue to remain faithful to God. Your tears, your prayers, your waiting, and your struggles are not in vain. They all have a divine purpose. Psalm 128:2 says to “revel in the goodness.” To revel means to take great pleasure or delight in something. Enjoy the blessing of God’s presence, His grace, His strength, and His peace. The answers to your prayers are coming. Some may happen in 2016 and some may occur in following years. Whenever they come God’s word says YOU DESERVE IT! Be Blessed, Be encouraged, and enjoy it!

Heavenly Father, we thank you for being sovereign. We thank you that you see all that we are going through and we thank you that you hear all of our prayers. Thank you for your grace and strength that has carried us through. Lord we go into a new year with a heart of expectancy that 2016 will be a blessed year! Lord we pray and stand by faith that you would heal all those who need healing. We pray that you would send provision for those that stand in need. Cover and protect every marriage represented here today. Encourage singles. Heal broken families. Bring back wayward children. Save or lost family members and friends. Lord, you see what every person reading this stands in need of. We pray for you to meet every need according to your perfect will. As we wait on prayers to be answered give us strength to remain faithful to you. Cover us in your grace and peace. Align our hearts with your will. Give us the wisdom to we need each day and help us to enjoy the fullness of every blessing you bestow up on us. On this day we choose to enjoy your presence and revel in your goodness. Thank you in advance for the answer to our prayers. Thank you that your word says we deserve every blessing coming our way. In Jesus name. Amen

Prayer for Pastors

Prayer for Pastors

And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding. (‭Jeremiah‬ ‭3‬:‭15‬ NKJV)

Father you said in your word that according to your heart you have given each one of us a Shepherd to watch over us and feed our souls. Lord we come lifting up the Pastor of each congregation represented here today that you will continue to use them to be effective in the ministry that you have assigned each of them. We pray that each Pastor will operate under the anointing and unique gift you have given them. May all that they do for the kingdom bring glory and honor to you. We pray for our Pastors’ hearts to be open and enlightened each week as you assign them the word to feed us from the pulpit. May each Pastor be true to the gospel by preaching an uncompromising word that will fill us with knowledge and understanding of You. May they preach an uncompromising word that will bring forth transformation in our lives causing us to transform more into your image and likeness each day. May the preached word birth a hunger in us to not only rely on the Pastor to feed us, but may it cause us to seek after you more each day. May we all grow in a manner to do what you have called each of us to do here on this earth. Lord we pray each Pastor serves in a place of love for your people. May they display mercy, kindness, humility, meekness, and long suffering just as Jesus displayed. As each Pastor travels near and far to minister the gospel we pray for a hedge of protection to surround them. Lord, give Angels charge over them and keep them. Lord, cover them in times of spiritual warfare and help them to remember we wrestle not against flesh and blood. May they always have on their full armor of a God that you have equipped us with according to Ephesians 6. Lord, we pray you meet every need they face in their ministries. In Jesus name. Amen.

What Do You Need? – Part 2

What Do You Need? – Part 2
Written by Felicia McKnight

You can be sure that God will take care of everything you need, his generosity exceeding even yours in the glory that pours from Jesus. (‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭19 MSG)

As I reflected on my last post, “What Do You Need?” I kept meditating on the last part of Philippians 4:19, “according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

“By Christ Jesus.”

The same Jesus that is seated in heavenly places in Ephesians 2:6, the same Jesus that is interceding for us in Romans 8:34, and the same Jesus we are co-heirs with and share in his glory in Romans 8:17 is a factor in our needs being met.  When we stand in need we tend to worry and analyze and figure out how the need will be met instead of trusting in our Heavenly Father. Have we forgotten that we serve a risen savior that through salvation has given us the victory over all things!?

This is my thesis for today. For those who are saved remember who saved you and who has given you the victory through the blood that was shed on the cross just for you.

What do you need today?

Do you need a peace of mind? Do you need a situation worked out in your life? Do you need finances? Do you need deliverance? Do you need some things to happen in your family? What do you need? Do you know the hope God has given you in his word about your need? Do you know that God is able?   The message version says “you can be SURE that God will take care of everything you need.” That word “sure” speaks for itself. It’s a promise. It means the matter has already been settled in Heaven.  Everything means all that you stand in need. It means that in faith God already knows and He will provide. He is Jehovah Jireh!

Today is a reminder to remember who Christ is. Remember He is seated in Heavenly places praying for you right now. He will meet your need according to his riches. The last I read in my Bible Christ isn’t lacking.  However He chooses to meet your needs He is generous, more generous than any of us could ever be.

My mind can’t fathom all of the glorious things God wants to do and release in our lives, but my faith is assured that it is something far beyond what we could imagine or hope for.

But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (‭I Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬ NKJV)

No need to loose anymore sleep. No need to wonder or try to figure things out. You are a child of the most high God. He is sovereign and he is able to do far more than you could imagine or hope.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (‭Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭20-21‬ NKJV)

What do you need? Will you be sure in your faith today that God will take care of EVERYTHING you need?

Be blessed and encouraged!

Heavenly Father, thank you that you are sovereign. Thank you that you see all and you already know what we stand in need of before we even ask. Thank you that your way is the best way. Thank you that we can stand in faith and be sure that everything we stand in need of you will meet it. In Jesus name. Amen

What Do You Need?

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭19‬ NKJV)
What do you stand in need of? ________________________________

Whatever your response is to the question above God already promised in Philippians 4:19 that He will supply it. Many times we are so focused on our needs and how we believe the answer should look that we miss the blessing of when God actually meets the need. I remember for years I Prayed for my finances to be in order and for me to be in a place where I could pay all bills on time before the due date. For me the answer to that prayer should have been financial increase in the form of a pay raise. However God had a different outcome. I had a major decrease in a source of income that forced me to restructure my finances and diligently live off of a budget. Within a month or so I realized I loved living on this budget and was now in the position where I was paying bills on time. The key thing is I never got the pay increase but the prayers were answered through financial decrease. God’s way of doing things are not our ways yet He is always faithful to His word!

As a reminder today there is no need to stress or worry about that thing you stand in need of. God is sovereign and he already has it worked out! I encourage you today to keep your eyes focused on God and not your circumstances. Stand on the promises of Philippians 4:19. When you feel like you are about to worry about your need start quoting this scrpiture and pray it over your life. You may not know how the need is going to look when it shows up, however you can stand in faith and assurance that God is able to meet every need that you have. He will do so in such a way that you can’t do anything but give Him all the glory for meeting your needs as only He can.

Be blessed and encouraged!

Father God, we thank you that you are sovereign and that you see the things your children stand in need of. For some its finances, others healing, others a peace of mind, a mended family, or deliverance of some sort. Lord, whatever we put in our blank space above we stand on your word and your promise today that you will meet every one of our needs according to your riches and glory by Christ Jesus. Lord, we come to you asking you to do the supernatural in our lives. We ask that you meet every need in a way we know it was nobody but you who did it. We thank you for every miracle and breakthrough coming our way. We give you all the glory, the honor, and the praise. In Jesus Christ Holy name. Amen
